I have HOLY WEEK, PSALMS OF PRAISE and JESUS HEALS. As a volunteer leader in children's ministry I am always looking for resources and I LOVE to share books with children. I love the simple language and beautiful bright pictures and board books are so sturdy!
Holy Week is so beautiful for adults and children alike to reflect on the tumultuous mix of emotions surrounding the last week of Jesus' life as we re-live this to some extent each year. Children understand big emotions and it's so wonderful to know Jesus does too.
I love that Jesus Heals talks about healing while teaching about bodies, and Psalms of Praise is a great one to practice actions with.

An incredibly beautiful book. The gold embossing, the illustrations, the acknowledgement of such ordinary holiness is wonderful! I would say that some liturgies went on a little bit, but I liked that some of them also had shorter versions to choose from. I think I may annoy my friends when I show up with a liturgy for EVERY occasion, but hopefully in the long run they'll thank me 🤪.

Curious Kid's Guides by Marc Olson
Curious Kids' Guides present cool and surprising information about Christian history and beliefs in an entertaining, visually engaging way for kids.
The World Jesus Knew: A Curious Kid's Guide to Life in the First Century
Jesus often told stories using everyday objects to help his listeners understand life with God. But for most of us, the deep imagery and meaning behind those objects has been lost to history. The World Jesus Knew: A Curious Kid's Guide to Life in the First Century helps kids discover the world Jesus lived in through maps, charts, graphs, and other infographic elements. They’ll learn about the culture Jesus lived in: his Jewish religion, the power of the ruling Roman Empire, the role of fishermen and carpenters and shepherds. It’s an invitation to explore the stories of Jesus in their cultural context, bringing new life to familiar biblical events. This beautifully illustrated book will be a family favorite that kids and adults will come back to over and over again.
The World of the First Christians: A Curious Kid's Guide to the Early Church
The life and teachings of Jesus changed the world forever--but what happened after the events of the Gospels? How did Christianity grow from a small group of followers to one of the largest religious movements in human history? How did the first Christians survive in an oppressive Roman Empire? What did the early church believe, and how did they worship? The World of the First Christians: A Curious Kid's Guide to the Early Church answers these questions and more, with colorful illustrations, charts, graphs, maps, and other infographics that will keep kids' attention for hours and give them new insight and understanding into the early growth of the Christian faith.
The World of the Old Testament: A Curious Kid's Guide to the Bible's Most Ancient Stories
The stories of the Old Testament present modern readers with a world completely foreign from our own. Curious kids riveted by these stories are likely to come away with questions. Who were the people who lived in the time and place in which these stories were set? How did they work? What did they eat? What were their families and tribes like? How did they fight? What did they believe about God, kings, enemies, and the world around them? And above all, what does any of it have to do with how we read and understand the books that make up the first half of the Bible? The World of the Old Testament: A Curious Kid's Guide to the Bible's Most Ancient Stories answers these questions and more, with charts, graphs, maps, and other infographics that will keep kids' attention for hours, and send them back to the Bible with surprising new insights and understanding.

"This is a must-have prayer book. It is the perfect companion, easy to carry, travels well, and has such wonderful prayers and wisdom for daily life. I think if you have one prayer book only, this is the one to have. It is beautiful, leather-bound, gold cross accompanies a Book of Common Prayer or Missal well. The preparation prayers of holy eucharist are really good so it is always with me at service too. I glad I bought it and I think it will also make a great gift."
— Rob Nelson
"I love my copy of the St. Augustine's Prayer Book. It was a gift, and I will always treasure it. Clean lines, easy to read print, a beautiful style, and profound devotions. Even the box it came in, marked with a cross, says there is something special inside. And there is."
— The Rev. Lindsay Hardin Freeman
"To this beautiful volume which introduced many to Marian devotion, and which gave expression to a more personal devotion not necessarily found in the BCP, new material e.g. Stations of the Resurrection has been added. The Litany of the Saints is updated to include holy figures from Hebrew Scriptures, the saints of Jesus one might call them, namely Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; Moses, Miriam, and Aaron; Ruth and Naomi. Saints also included are Ignatius of Antioch, Polycarp, Alban. Perpetua and Felicity. Beloved Anglican Saints now includes the pairs: Richard Hooker and Lancelot Andrewes, Nicholas Ferrar and George Herbert, John Keble and Edward Pusey. The updated "Litany of Intercessions in the Night" puts more responsibility on us and is less judgmental. This newly revised edition represents a devotional treasure."
— Dr. Deirdre Good, Academic Dean & Professor of New Testament, General Theological Seminary
"A wonderful, thoughtful revision. Thank you Fr. Cobb & Derek for your work on this instructive new edition that is sure to become the favorite of a new generation."

Open and Unafraid: The Psalms as a Guide to Life by W. David O. Taylor
In Open and Unafraid, the creator of the groundbreaking film The Psalms, featuring Bono and Eugene Peterson, shows how the Psalms enable us to find a more transparent, resilient, and fearless life of faith. Featuring a foreword by Eugene Peterson and an afterword by Bono.
In 2016, David Taylor released a film of Eugene Peterson and U2's Bono discussing how the Psalms had shaped their work, helping them make sense of life, art, metaphor, violence, suffering, and mortality. With more than one million views on YouTube, the film is a sensation and has helped people encounter God as he is presented in the Psalms: a God of justice, grace, goodness, healing, power and refuge. Open and Unafraid goes even further, showing us how the Psalms become a guide to living faithfully.
The Psalms have been central to God's people for millennia, across all walks of life and cultural contexts. In reading them, we discover that we are never alone in our joys, sorrows, angers, doubts, praises, or thanksgivings. In them, we learn about prayer and poetry, honesty and community, justice and enemies, life and death, nations and creation. Open and Unafraid shows us how to read the Psalms in a fresh, life-giving way, and so access the bottomless resources for life that they provide.

PRAISE
"David Taylor’s take is 'open and unafraid' alright. He really goes there, exposing himself before God in the most beautiful way. He might have called the book Naked, because if you don’t find your own self feeling a little exposed here, it might be time to take some armor off."
— Bono, from the Afterword
"A book that you will want to read and read again, and yet again, in order to discover the wisdom of the Psalms that shows us how to walk in the life-giving way of Jesus."
— Eugene Peterson, from the Foreword
"A winsome, accessible entry into the Book of Psalms…Connects the poetry of the psalms to real-life wonders and struggles."
— Walter Brueggemann, Columbia Theological Seminary
"Taylor reads these biblical prayers with Dr. Seuss, rappers, and other poets, along with theologians and the daily news... Guides readers in tracing out patterns of holy speech that have the potential for healing our hearts and our communities."
— Ellen F. Davis, Duke Divinity School
"I have always loved the psalms--for their defiant devotion, their deep joy, and their brutal yet beautiful honesty. And after reading this fantastic book about them, I love them even more."
— Matt Redman, worship leader and songwriter
"In these fraught and fearsome days, we need the psalms more than ever. And we need more faithful artists and thinkers like David Taylor to mine the infinite gifts the psalms offer across the ages."

PRAISE
"What an awesome prayer book! This book is wonderful for everyone, but especially for those like me who may need a bit of guidance with their daily prayers. It is invaluable for those who are curious about how to start praying daily, as well as those who are dedicated prayer veterans. I loved it so much, I ended up buying several more to give to family and friends."
— Amazon Review
"If you want to start a daily prayer discipline, this lovely little book is an ideal place to begin. Following the ancient Anglican practice of praying "the hours," it offers four very short prayer services--morning, noon, evening and compline—for each day of the week. Reading/praying this daily gives me both a sense of peace and inspiration. It's perfect!"
— Cathryn Conroy
"This little book is a gem. It's small enough to fit in your coat pocket or bag and is quite handsome. It has leather binding, comes with a black satin bookmark, has gold edges and the title and a Celtic cross are stamped on the front cover in gold. What's really gold, though, is that this book offers a short and simple way to pray the daily offices (morning, noon, evening, and compline) in a simple way. If, like me, you have found daily office books like Benedictine Daily Prayer or the Anglican Breviary to be too complex, Hour by Hour is for you. All the readings you need are included. No flipping through the book is required, nor do you need a Bible or other supplemental books. There is also a section of other prayers in the back--seasonal prayers, occasional prayers, and familiar prayers. The offices in this book are brief and for some people they won't be enough. But using this book has given me a daily prayer routine and it has been invaluable. The preface says it all: "Using this book daily will deepen your commitment. It could even change your life. Carry it with you wherever you go. You won't regret it." I completely agree--Hour by Hour is wonderful."
— Elizabeth Moon
"Simplest clearest prayer hours book I have ever used. This little volume is a great pocket size. Nice thick cream paper, with great layout and design. Sewn binding for durability. The leather cover is glossy and firm. It is essentially a leather-bound hardcover, but it is very well done. Highly recommended!"
— Ryan J. Carter T
"The really great feature in is this devotional book is its ability to fill in the gaps between seasons of the church, especially if you are using another form of the liturgy of the hours that may not have the days between Christmas and the beginning of Lent, for example. It is well written and has additional prayers. I recommend it for clergy or anyone wanting to deepen their devotional life."
— Pastor Ron Nelson

Faith with a Twist: A 30-Day Journey into Christian Yoga by Hillary D. Raining and Amy Nobles Dolan
Faith with a Twist: A 30-Day Journey into Christian Yoga blends the ancient church’s wisdom and the spiritual practice of yoga. This book has a different meditation, prayer, or practice to go along with readers’ yoga practice for each day of a month-long journey, inviting participants to grow in their love of God. In addition to the core material, there will be a series of postures (with helpful modifications that could be done while seated) as well as suggestions on how this series could be used to complement different seasons in the church year.
All too often attempts to blend yoga and Christianity have failed to do justice to both traditions—often sacrificing the wisdom of one tradition for the other. Faith with a Twist connects the traditional eight limbs of yoga with the church’s understanding and emphasis on living a holy life. This approach creates a unique blend of spiritual practices and religious wisdom that are perfect for the yoga novice and the experienced practitioner alike.

- FREE yoga video: This 20-minute practice is excellent both for the beginner or for an experienced yogi on a busy day

The Very Best Day: The Way of Love for Children by Roger Hutchison
The Very Best Day: The Way of Love for Children introduces the practices for a Jesus-centered life for children ages 3–10 and their families. Through accessible language and age-appropriate themes, it specifically addresses children and the importance of rhythm and practice in their lives as Christians, accompanied by Roger Hutchison's familiar and vibrant artwork. Through a cadence of words and colorful images, children will see how to Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, and Rest in daily life as a follower of Jesus. Acquiring such wisdom at an early age will benefit children (and the adults who love them) to learn these practices for a lifetime.
"The Way of Love" has become a mantra of Michael B. Curry's episcopate as presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church. From the royal wedding to the 79th General Convention of the Episcopal Church and continuing today, all ages have been inspired and eager to "grow more deeply with Jesus Christ at the center of our lives, so we can bear witness to his way of love in and for the world."

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
PRAISE
"In a culture that has become isolating, technological, fractious, and cold, Traci Smith has given us a survival kit of practices to help families stay close to what is sacred, meaningful, intimate, and alive. Faithful Families will not only help parents nurture the souls of their children, it will keep them sane within the chaotic forces of 21st-century family life."
— Mark Yaconelli, author, The Gift of Hard Things and Contemplative Youth Ministry
"This is a great book to give as a present for a baptism, birthday, or Christmas. I think this is a fabulous resource for families as well as for church leaders. While all the practices are designed for use in the home, some could also be adapted for a Sunday school or youth group setting."
— Anna Greenwood Lee, Anglican Theological Review
“This book is a must-have for any family wishing to live as faithful disciples of Jesus. Traci Smith has created a gold mine of resources, ideas, and practices that invite children, teens, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, houseguests, pets—everyone who makes up all kinds of families—to actively form one another in authentic Christian faith. Get this book for your family. Give it to families in your faith community. Drop copies of it from an airplane. It’s sure to have an impact on all who use it.”
— David M. Csinos, Assistant Professor of Practical Theology at Atlantic School of Theology and Founder of Faith Forward
“Traci Smith teaches us how to slow down, to create sacred space and time in order to nurture a child’s soul. This book is a gift of the spirit.”
— Rabbi Sandy Eisenberg Sasso, author of God’s Paintbrush, Creation’s First Light, and many other award-winning children’s books
“Traci Smith is a gracious guide through practices that are simple, profound, and welcoming.”
— MaryAnn McKibben Dana, author of Sabbath in the Suburbs: A Family's Experiment with Holy Time
"I loved these ideas for families to practice faith and follow the church calendar. The different activities are marked by age and offer variations. I will be picking up a physical copy to put on my shelf with To Dance With God by Gertrud Mueller Nelson and The Circle of Seasons by Kimberlee Conway Ireton. I love all three books, but this is the one that is the most activity-based. If you are familiar with the rhythms of the calendar year and are simply looking for ways to celebrate it, I highly recommend this as an option."
— Kari Baumann, throughaglass.net
"[Traci] Smith's book is, in the most literal sense, a Godsend. It is chock full of imaginative, provocative and developmentally appropriate practices for families to engage in. ....This book presents parents, pastors and teachers with a beautiful and flexible set of practices. Smith is clearly open to the breadth of theologies within the Christian family, as well as local and contextual issues: all of her practices come with suggestions for how they can flex and adapt. It is a gracious book, a clear picture of how our faith can be seamlessly integrated into the seasons of our lives, growing and changing through the years."
— Kelly Boubel Shriver, The Presbyterian Outlook
“In her new book Faithful Families, pastor and author Traci Smith provides a treasure-trove of family-friendly, low-and-no-budget activities that carry with them the power to turn even rushed meals and lazy Sunday afternoons into spiritual experiences. The text is a resource guide chock-full of creativity; perhaps it would read more naturally as a reference book ―complete with a handy table of contents!―than it would be to read cover-to-cover. Traci Smith offers a great gift to busy families everywhere: accessible and achievable spiritual practices that bring awareness to the presence of God that is found in the midst of the everyday, mundane, tabletop moments too. Thanks be to God, indeed.”
― T.J. Romaley, “From Mountaintops to Tabletops: A Book Review of Faithful Families,” Musings and Meditations

Welcome to the Church Year: An Introduction to the Seasons of the Episcopal Church by Vicki K. Black
In an easy-to-read conversational style, Welcome to the Church Year introduces readers to the traditions of the Church seasons and explains why we do what we do. But it does more than offer interesting trivia about church vestments and pageantry. Its insights can help readers participate in the liturgies of the Church year in a deeper, more meaningful way. This book takes readers by the hand and leads them through the Church year, from the first Sunday of Advent through the last Sunday of Pentecost, answering questions like “Why do we use purple in Lent?” and “What does Maundy Thursday mean?”
From birthday cakes and anniversary dinners to summer vacations at the beach, each family has its own ways of marking the days and seasons of its life. For the Christian family—especially Episcopalians—it’s no different. With an array of colors and an assortment of rich traditions, Episcopalians move through the Church year, marking the days and seasons that tell the story of Christ in our lives—in history and today.

Sounding the Seasons: Seventy Sonnets for the Christian Year by Malcolm Guite
Poetry has always been a central element of Christian spirituality and is increasingly used in worship, pastoral services, and guided meditation. In Sounding the Seasons, Cambridge poet, priest, and singer-songwriter Malcolm Guite transforms seventy lectionary readings into lucid, inspiring poems for use in regular worship, seasonal services, meditative reading, or on retreat.
Already widely recognized, Guite's writing has been acclaimed by Rowan Williams-- former Archbishop of Canterbury--and Luci Shaw, a leading religious poets. Seven Advent poems from this collection will appear in the next edition of Penguin's (US) Best Spiritual Writing edited by Philip Zaleski, alongside the work of writers such as Seamus Heaney and Annie Dillard.
A section of practical help and advice for using poetry creatively and effectively in worship is also included.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Malcolm Guite is a poet-priest and Chaplain of Girton College Cambridge, but often travels around Great Britain and North America to give lectures, concerts, and poetry readings. He has authored several books as well as contributed poetry and essays to several collections. PRAISE
"Malcolm's sonnets are powerful in the extreme." -Jan Payne, Church Times
"Malcolm Guite knows exactly how to use the sonnet form to powerful effect. These pieces have the economy and pungency of all good sonnets, and again and again, offer deep resources for prayer and meditation to the reader. In his own words, ‘brevity, clarity, concentration and a capacity for paradox’ are typical of the best sonnet sequences, and all those qualities are to be found here." -Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury
"Each of Malcolm Guite’s sonnets is like a Celtic knot, with threads of devotion and theology cunningly woven into shining emblems of truth and beauty. Whether spoken aloud or read silently, these poems speak to mind and soul." -Luci Shaw, poet and author of Harvesting Fog and Breat
