2022-2023 Academic Daily | Sacred Ordinary Days Planner
NEW 2022-2023 Academic Planners are LAUNCHING MAY 31! Order early to ensure you get one! We were only able to order half our usual amount. Planners ship in July.
The Sacred Ordinary Days Planner is designed to help you cultivate a whole life—one of prayer, work, rest, joy, and connection.
When you're looking at your life as a whole and not in pieces, you'll be able to identify what's working well and what small tweaks you might make as you go to make things more effective, sustainable, or joyful. You'll begin with naming and noticing what is and then reflecting, integrating, and resetting. Over the course of a whole year, you'll be surprised at the way you'll come to cultivate sustainable and sustaining rhythms, based on the liturgical year, practices of prayer, and approaching scripture afresh.
Though we can't come alongside each of you as your Spiritual Director, we hope this planner (and the community of people using it all over the world) will offer you companionship and guidance on the journey. Let us be an entry point or anchor to approaching this new-old way of being with humility, curiosity, and creativity.
A PLANNER TO HELP YOU CULTIVATE A WHOLE LIFE

I adore this planner. I've used it every year since the first kickstarter, minus a few months when I tried to go without and just couldn't. It is integral to my life, and I know things are out-of-whack when a few blank pages go by, or I miss a weekly examen. I use the daily page for my examen practice, mapping moments of consolation and desolation. I also track questions and requests and prayers. What do I need? What am I grateful for? I also bring it with me into my spiritual direction, and it's so helpful in reviewing the month. The daily office readings are an added bonus, so I don't have to toggle back and forth with another resource. Just the planner and my Bible and a meditation cushion for centering prayer. It's been a constant companion in my spiritual life.
This planner was a wonderful opportunity to take time to mediate on Scripture and think through my whole person experience of the day. I loved everything; the only thing I would wish for would be for something more specific in the "priorities" section every day. Something that matches the examen - what are my bodily priorities, my emotional priorities,my work priorities, etc.?
I'm love planners, but I don't use them well. Like the person that buys exercise equipment to get fit, then isn't committed to using it! The SOD planner has given my many opportunities to grow spiritually in addition to finding and creating order in my week. I'm still learning. There are so many things my planner does, and number one: it is teaching and leading me the practice of being in the real presence of God more. Thank you SOD!
My daily planner keeps my spiritual life and my "other" life organized. The wonderful thing is that the more I use it, the more my "other" life becomes embedded in my spiritual life. As I get to the end of the year, my planner grows fat with quotes, poems, pictures and music that I paste in. I sketch, paint and do whatever the Spirit leads me to do in the blank spaces. I haven't developed the introspection practice on Sundays with much success, but I'll get there! The only changes I would enjoy would be having a larger blank space on each page and have some of the spaces vertical instead of horizontal. Also would like a few more blank pages, since I paste in my passwords, health issues, family phone numbers and addresses, garden plans and more! I think this is my fourth year and I'm looking forward to year #5.
I am so so thankful for SOD! I have been using the daily planner for a few years now. In using SOD it has helped to breath the peace, strength of scripture in to the activities, triumphs & hardships of my husband, kids and me. This humble guide has brought awareness of the expectant hope that is all around on a daily basis. Anyone who walking their inner journey with the Lord needs to get this tool to help guide their way!
I’ve been using SOD planners for several years. This past year I really determined to follow the Bible reading plan and it’s been life changing. I’m so thankful for SOD!
I always enjoy getting this planner and this year is no less exciting. Open Meadow is a great cover.
The SOD daily planner has been a steady companion through an unsteady year, and has provided daily prompts to return to tried and true practices that support spiritual growth. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to create or reinforce habits on a daily/weekly/seasonal rhythm. There's also white space that's helpful for a bit of journaling and reflection.
I love my Daily Planner! I've gone thru so many planners trying to find what Sacred Ordinary Days provides. As someone who is prone to get off track (and somewhat unmotivated to get things done), this planner helps me to stay focused. Anyone can make a to-do list. But the key to staying focused for me is knowing there's a reward or rest at the end of it. Genius! This is why the best feature of the planner is the Priorities-Cue-Rest/Delight section. I also absolutely love that they've built in a weekly examen to help reflect and reset. So vital to remain grounded!
This planner was so helpful in reorienting my thinking and rhythms, and I loved the inclusion of the Daily Office, Church calendar items, and space for priorities and cues. An amazing resource in viewing life holistically, instead of as a list of to-do items.

I've been using Sacred Ordinary Days as my planner for six years now, and I have no intent to ever change to another planner. Obviously I love it for planning purposes; the layout is clean and elegant, and it gives me just enough space to write down the essentials without feeling cluttered or overwhelmed. I enjoy the space for examen; it helps me reflect in important ways. I think that it has a guide and focus for examen, too; I do best with prompts, so it's perfect. But mainly, I love having the daily office in the planner. I have a really complicated relationship with the church and with scripture. Scripture reading was used as a punishment when I was growing up, so it's always held a lot of guilt and shame in my life. Sacred Ordinary Days has been a way for me to slowly reconnect with scripture without pressure or a feeling of obligation. I don't read my Bible every day, but the fact that Sacred Ordinary Days has gotten me to read it a little bit more frequently is a huge gift. Get this planner! You won't regret it.
I have tried many planners over the years, but they always left me feeling overwhelmed rather than peaceful. Until this one! I love that the SOD weekly planner leaves plenty of room for me to write what I need to, rather than my feeling like I need to conform to the planner’s ways. The weekly examen & Sabbath pages are a balm for my soul and keep me feeling grounded. I feel less pressure with this planner, yet this last year using it has been one of my most productive! Amazing what happens when we let go of the hustle & let the Holy Spirit lead. The Sacred Ordinary Days planner has helped me with that. Thank you!
I am a teacher on my second academic planner. I will never go back to a traditional planner. The SOD planner has helped me stay anchored in my faith while moving through incredibly busy seasons. I anxiously await the 2022-2023 edition!
I love the Sacred Ordinary Days planner! I have the weekly one, which works for my season of life! There is enough room for me to write in my three priorities of the day and to write out my to-do list each day. The weekly examen has been so helpful in keeping me centered and reminding me of the important things in life. As I reflect each week, I am reminded of the life God is calling me to live in this current season. I highly recommend the Sacred Ordinary Days planner!
I first encountered this planner when I bought it for my minister daughter. A couple of years later I saw it again as an ad. My work is as a university professor but I am also a contemplative of many years and a lay monastic.
In my training as a spiritual director it is a tool I share with my fellow directors and it helps me to observe the hours and leads to other practices. It is a daily companion that I heartily recommend
What words can I use to express how wonderful this planner has been? I fear going over the top, so will try to sound grounded in this review. That's the whole point, though ... grounded ... in Christ. I've never had a planner that gave me a sense of peace just by resting my eyes on the cover. I realize it's not the planner itself, but the thoughtfulness and love poured out from the makers, and, ultimately from The Maker of all. What a gift! Last year, I decided the complicated planners-with-algorithms-to-increase-productivity model had to go. I didn’t want to feel like a machine. A year later, enter Sacred Ordinary Days. I downloaded the sample and felt a bit of hope. I downloaded the transitional four-month PDF planner, and my heart soared. I now have a hard copy of the 2022 Year C planner. Everything is so well thought out. The presentation is simple. The daily, weekly, and seasonal rhythms are life giving. Every page added beyond the daily pages adds richness. Following the church calendar on a daily basis has made me feel connected to brothers and sisters around the world in present day, and with those who've gone before. I meet God here. THANK YOU Sacred Ordinary Days! Thank you, Lord. Peace.
I just bought my 4th SOD planner. I use the academic year since I'm in seminary. The weekly layout helps me keep track of assignments and the liturgical features help me stay present and grounded. The combined planner and liturgy remind me that my work is my worship too. My SOD planner helps form me and give rhythm to my days.
I am so happy to have this planner. I was unsure about spending the money, since I don't have nearly as many events or thing to plan as I did before the pandemic, but the beauty of this planner is that it is more than just a place to jot times and dates. I use the small daily spaces to often joy down a thought or a prayer. I use this planner to write down what I'm learning from God. I keep track of friend's birthdays, I am keeping a reading list, etc. The cover is gorgeous, and I love how pretty it is.
This planner/journaling system has become a daily practice that keeps me grounded in spirit and continuously seeking god's guidance over my life and I can't emphasize what a blessing this has been. You will not be sorry if you decide to try it and persist until it becomes a deeply connected habit.
After much contemplation, I finally purchased my first liturgical planner after wanting one for quite some time! And I love it! The Weekly Planner allows me a glance at the week while also incorporating guides for my spiritual walk & rhythms of grace. I love the attention to the liturgical calendar cycle & the prompts for Sabbath & examen. While this planner allows me to jot down key things to remember fro each day, it also serves as a journal space, combining work with rest. I selected the Glowing Ember Red cover because it sparks a sense of joy & motivation. Thank you for creating such a beautiful & useful tool!

Peace.

I enjoy having this planner at my fingertips. It enables easier moments of prayer and contemplation.
I had been getting more and more into GoodNotes after discovering digital journaling and looking forward to new liturgical planners that start in November when this four month version came out with the academic ones. I knew instantly I wanted to make the switch right away and I am so glad I did!!
I bought this for a friend who uses her phone, and she is having difficulty using the PDF planner. Here is an excerpt from her email to me.
“Unfortunately, the digital version of the planner has frustrated me to the point of elevated blood pressure. It’s painfully small to read on my phone, won’t sync in the Kindle app to my Kindle Fire, and apparently counts every time I have even looked at it as a download (only 5 allowed). I sent a query to Customer Service the day I received. They have never answered but are happy to keep the promo emails coming ;-)
I did download the planner to my desktop where the viewing is larger, but I rarely use that format because of the strain on my bad eye. The PDF is not interactive so pages have to be printed in order to add personal data.”
I downloaded this pdf and got it printed and spiral bound at Staples because I couldn't wait for the journal I purchased to get here, much less wait til the end of November to start! I really need a livable way to incorporate prayer and scripture into my day as a working mom and even after my first two entries, and this is it. I have always been a planner and journaler, and to have both functionalities in the same elegant and thoughtful book is so helpful and refreshing. I'm looking forward to getting off my phone more since I have the lectionary readings and day planner in print, keeping me away from the tempting apps that await me when I open my calendar or web browser to look up the scripture of the day and my events.
Cannot wait to continue this new practice in the coming year!!
I have been a SOD user from the kickstarter days, and I have used both the paper and digital versions. When I needed an Ipad and apple pencil for work, I decided to try the digital version of the planner. I use the GoodNotes app and open the PDF file there. I can write, highlight, add pages between SOD pages for notes / planning, bookmark pages, add calendars to an outline, etc. It is easy for me to carry with me everywhere I go.
My practice is to wake up early - before the husband and kids - take my caffeine to the back porch, and spend 15 or 20 minutes working through my day. Having the planner has kept me feeling grounded in a time of uncertainty.

This sample PDF was so helpful for me in deciding whether or not to purchase the planner! I loved it and purchased the daily planner as a result.
I purchased the monthly sample PDF for June and July, and put them in a small binder to test out the experience of using the liturgical planner before committing to the full version. The layout is thoughtful and well-explained. The PDF comes with opening pages that explain the practices laid out in the planner. It helped me get a real feeling of how I would use the planner and decide whether to commit! If you are also unsure if the liturgical planner is for you, the monthly sample PDF is the perfect chance to try for yourself.

Sacred Ordinary Days exists to help people grow in Christ-likeness—and help the church come together—through holistic Christian spiritual formation.
We create and curate tools and resources rooted in ancient practices and rhythms but translated with a clean aesthetic and accessible language, like the Sacred Ordinary Days Planner. Ultimately, we believe that helping people grow in Christ-likeness will build the Church and, in turn, the Kingdom. The building blocks are sacred, ordinary days.
What types of shipping services do you offer?
Due to COVID-19 related fees, delays, and difficulties, we have temporarily suspended international shipping. We are still able to ship anywhere in the US.We currently offer free shipping on all orders valued at $75 and above (applied at checkout) and flat rate shipping of $3 or $5 per package on orders valued under $75, depending on total package weight.
How quickly will my order ship?
Digital products are automatically sent by email shortly after you place your order. Physical products are shipped from our warehouse in Waco, TX on weekday afternoons. You'll receive an email with tracking information when your order is shipped.
Can I change my shipping address, email or payment info?
Because our orders ship daily, we may not be able to change your information before your order is processed and shipped. For that reason, please verify your shipping address at checkout before submitting your order. If you find an error, contact us as soon as possible and we will try our hardest to make corrections before the order goes out. We try to check email for any shipping-related updates before printing labels.
What is your return policy?
We do our best to describe and depict each product with great care and detail. For that reason we created the FREE Essentials Workbook to give you a closer look at the design of our planner. The Essentials Workbook will help you evaluate if our product is a good fit for you before you spend any money. You can often purchase digital sample months of the planners to try before you buy. Our planner isn't a perfect fit for everyone, though. We haven't set out to be. It's not possible! That said, let us know if you find an issue and we will do our best to make it right.
If your physical product is damaged or defective, or you receive the wrong product, please contact us with your name, order number, and nature of the issue at hello@sacredordinarydays.com and we will address your concern as quickly as possible.
